GENERAL INFORMATION

The International Studies Program at the The Academic College Levinsky-Wingate (Wingate Campus) includes the Erasmus+ Mobility Program and the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).

LOCATION

Netanya is a city in the Northern Central District of Israel, and is the capital of the surrounding Sharon plain. It is located on the West coast, on the Mediterranean Sea shoreline, 30 km (18.64 mi) north of Tel Aviv, and 56 km (34.80 mi) south of Haifa. The Poleg Stream and Wingate Institute are located in the southern border of Netanya, which has been labeled the City of Sport. It hosts a newly built stadium, home of Maccabi Netanya, one of the most successful soccer teams in Israel. Netanya’s 14 kilometers (8.7 mi) of beaches have made the city a very popular tourist resort. It has a population of about 200,000 citizens and hosts several academic institutions, one of which is the The Academic College Levinsky-Wingate (Wingate Campus).

 

The Academic College Levinsky-Wingate (Wingate Campus)


The Academic College Levinsky-Wingate (Wingate Campus) is an accredited institution of higher education that offers students combined academic and professional training for employment in the fields of movement, training, rehabilitation and sports, and for teaching Physical Education.


Aims

• To provide high level academic studies to train and prepare a cadre of professionals to engage in Physical Education, sport training, active recreation, dance, and rehabilitation through movement.
• To provide and promote professional training for teachers, coaches, managers and leaders in the fields in the fields of physical education, movement, exercise and sport.
• To generate research in physical education, exercise and sport sciences.
• To serve as a center for supplementary studies, continuing education and in-service studies for those engaging in these fields.
• To heighten the public’s awareness of the contribution of the many forms of movement to human development and optimal functioning.

HOUSING

Dormitory rooms are available at the Netanya Academic College. Rooms range between $450-$850, depending on the number of roommates and size of room, plus approximately $12-$22 for electricity expenses.

Rental fees must be paid in advance for the entire planned housing period.

The Netanya Academic College is located in Netanya and buses to the Wingate Campus are available.

FACILITIES

Gym
The Academic College Levinsky-Wingate (Wingate Campus) has a gym on campus with different aerobic machines (treadmill, bicycles, and elliptical machines) as well as weights. The facility is located in the college building and is walking distance from the dormitories. All college students have access free of charge to the gym during student hours.

Computer Rooms:
Two computer rooms can be found in the Wingate Campus Building. A computer assistant is available to students who need help during regular hours.

Food and Living Expenses:
There is a Dining Hall in the Wingate Institute and two cafeterias on the college campus.
You should plan to spend $500-$600 per month for food, independent travel, and incidental expenses. You may need a bit more for the first month to cover initial purchases of household items and books.
