Student Teaching

 Student Teaching (Internship)

The year of entry into actual student teaching (internship) is referred to as the year of "specialization." The central aims of student teaching focus on the professional development of novice teachers through a process of absorbing and being absorbed by the education system. The interns’ instruction is accompanied and overseen by professional tutors who provide support and guidance in how to develop professional work behavior patterns. They also identify student teachers who encounter difficulties integrating into the work environment. Student teachers who successful complete their internship are granted a teaching license, qualifying them to teach in state schools in Israel.

Aims of the Student Teaching (Internship) Year

  1. Teaching experience in authentic conditions
  2. Professional, social and emotional support for novice teachers
  3. Evaluation of the teachers in their first year of instruction
