Sporting Event Managers Course according to the standards of the Israel Police and Sports Authority

General

Israel Football Association and the Homeland Security Academy at the Academic College at Wingate were selected to conduct a Sporting Event Managers training course in accordance with the standards of the Israel Police

Course objectives

• To provide the participants with professional tools and knowledge in the field of security.
• To provide the participants with knowledge regarding facility and sporting event safety.
• To provide the participants with sporting event planning, coordination and management skills.
• To certify the graduates as Sporting Event Managers (in all areas of sports, not only football).

Target population

• Managers at sports organizations and groups.
• Security officers / security managers / position holders at security firms.
• Security managers seeking an advanced education program in the field of event management.

Lecturers

The course is conducted by the Homeland Security Academy lecturers, including the most experienced and knowledgeable experts from the business and public sector, former position holders at Israeli security agencies and leading academicians, in collaboration with the leading lecturers in the field of sports and safety in Israel and worldwide.

Course format

Course duration: 190 hours - 24 weekly sessions to be held every Wednesday (subject to change) as of November 16, 2016.

Lectures take place from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Course location: Football Association’s Training Center at the Ramat Gan Stadium.

Diploma

Students, who will meet course requirements, will receive a certificate from the Homeland Security Academy at the Academic College at Wingate, Football Association and Israel Police – Security Division.

Course topics

The Opponent – terrorist organizations and criminal rivals – characteristics and courses of action / Security Theory – theories, methods, processes and personnel / Analysis of disasters in sporting events / Crowd Control / Detecting suspects and taking action / Questioning / Sabotage Prevention – explosives, pyrotechnics – detection, prevention and treatment / Legal aspects of sporting events and security / Authorities / Interaction / Management & Leadership / Operational Planning – field file, operation instructions, routine and emergency procedures, cases and responses, operational work of a security agent /Procedures, Interpersonal communication and prevention of violence / Handling pressure and burnout / Safety

Tuition payment - total course price per student – 10,300 NIS (to be paid directly to the Israel Football Association)
